Abstract

During the past 50 years, more than 69 quality related initiatives have been taken. Statistical Process
Control (SPC), Quality Circles (QC), Total Quality Management (TQM), Bench Marking, Quality Management
System (QMS), Standard and other such initiatives have created a visible impact in the business world. 'Keep it
Simple' formula has always been the basic concept of specialists for performance measurement over the past 70
years in an effort to have the greatest impact on business. In a competitive environment different types of classic
tools and metrics have been applied in a different manner.
