Abstract

Rapid prototyping (RP) refers to a new era technology that constructs the physical parts from computer aided design (CAD) data
directly. Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is one of the RP technologies that produced parts from plastic material by lying track
of semi molten plastic filament on to a platform in a layer wise manner from bottom to top from filament nozzle. The part quality
of FDM made parts is highly susceptible to various process parameters of FDM process. Hence optimization of FDM process
parameters is necessary in order to improve the quality of parts. The purpose of this paper is to explore the reviews for various
optimization methods used for process parameter optimization of FDM process given by researchers and application of full
factorial method.
