Abstract

This paper mainly deals with the study of thermal modeling of heat exchanger. Heat exchanger is a
device that is used to transfer thermal energy (enthalpy) between two or more fluids, at different temperatures
and in thermal contact. In this problem of heat transfer involved the condition where different constructional
parameters are changed for getting the performance review under different condition. The shell and tube type of
heat exchanger offers unique advantage over other variants in applications like the case for this dissertation
work. The purpose of this research is to perform the modeling of single staggered wire and tube heat exchanger.
This paper presents a study of the thermal models of wire-on-tube and shell and tube type of heat exchanger.
Thermal modeling as well as performance parameter used by researchers is discussed. This review will be useful
for research and development of heat exchanger.
