Abstract

Generally, it is believed that ultimate displacement of RC member is based on strength of the member. This definition does not
reflect the true deformation capacity of member. Thus, present study is carried out to quantify the effect of axial load on
deformation capacity of RC column. The study provides a clear insight into the fundamental mechanism of concrete structural
deformation.
