Abstract

In the last few years, there has been a continuous growth taking place in industries, particularly in the production industries, due
to this the advancement in manufacturing processes have occurred such as Robotics, Flexible manufacturing system(FMS) and
Additive manufacturing(AM) or 3 Dimension printing(3DP). Comparing all these new manufacturing techniques, the installation
and maintenance cost is too higher for the robotics and FMS, as well as these are not suitable for small scale work and complex
parts. While Additive manufacturing process is quite suitable for the production of complex shapes, because this process is totally
based on CAD model prepared in CAD software. Due to this the layers of raw material are laid down under numeric (Computer)
control and it forms a perfect 3D model of required dimensions and pre inserted material so this machine is known as 3D Printer.
In this paper we are going to show you working principle, importance of 3D printer and its applications in various fields.
