Abstract

Clean up and recovery of spilled oil is a critical issue due to the environment and economic concern. Booms
and skimmers are the mechanical equipment used for the efficient recovery of spilled oil while dispersant,
biodegradable agents, and solidifiers are utilized for cleanup of spilled oil. Depending on the stage of a spill, different
monitoring approaches need to be carefully evaluated to ensure they are relevant and will produce meaningful results.
