Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to vary speed of induction motor using cycloconverter. Cycloconverter is the
device which can change frequency in single step. Induction motor speed can be varied using change of frequency.
With the help of proper control circuit design, gate pulses to be obtained & given to cycloconverter. Frequency can be
divided by 2 or divided by 3 and according to that the speed of induction motor is also divided by 2 or divided by 3.
